Reading tutoring for those with dyslexia
Dyslexia should not be a problem that holds your child back from the pleasures of reading, or success in school. Too often dyslexia gives the student the social stigma of being a slower learner. Please consider that the methods previously used to teach your child how to read may not be the right methods to use with the dyslexic student.
I am a reading tutor in Batavia. I use the Orton-Gillingham method which is a scientifically-proven method of teaching reading skills to the dyslexic individual. This method combines multi-sensory learning together with systematic phonics instruction. It is a wonderful way to teach any person how to read. A diagnosis of dyslexia is not necessary to put this powerful method to work for your child.

I love the challenge that each child presents. Each child is unique in his or her gifts, personality, intellect, character, and spirit. As I get to know each child, I come to recognize his or her learning styles, interests, strengths, and weaknesses. I look for the best ways to help each child grow. Watching each child blossom is very rewarding.
